Draft — not reviewed by a lawyer. This describes what the software actually does today, which is the right starting point, but it is not legal advice and has not been checked against Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or California requirements. Have a solicitor review it before it goes live, and before taking payments.
Business information we collect
We look up local businesses through Google's Places API and keep what it returns: business name, address, phone number, category, rating, review count, and the website address on the listing. This is information the business has already published to appear in search results. We do not collect anything about individual customers of those businesses.
We then fetch the business's website as an ordinary visitor would and record technical measurements about it — whether it loads, how long it takes, whether it works on a phone. We do not attempt to access anything that is not publicly served, and we honour the response we get: a site that blocks automated requests is recorded as unmeasured, not as broken.
If you would rather we did not hold your business's information
Write to us and we will delete it. You do not have to be a customer, and you do not have to give a reason.
Information from customers
If you hire us, we keep the contact details needed to do the work and bill for it: name, business name, email, phone, and billing address.
We never see or store your card number. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, on their systems, and they return only a customer reference to us.
Cookies
This public site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
Signing in to a customer or staff account sets a session cookie so you stay signed in, and a second cookie used to verify that requests came from our own pages. Both are strictly necessary for the account to function; neither is used for tracking.
Who else sees it
Our payment processor, for billing. Our hosting provider, as a consequence of running the site. Nobody else. We do not sell or share information with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
Business listing data is refreshed periodically and cached no longer than the Places API terms permit. Customer records are kept while you are a customer and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting rules require.
